Itching can be caused by insect bites like mosquito bites, heat rashes or allergic reactions. Stress can also cause a rash. Scratching the affected area usually aggravates the problem. In India the careless arrogant malicious officials in intelligence and security agencies will often falsely accuse an innocent person who is suffering from itching of horrible crimes and subjected to the most terrible human rights abuses for years. Some of the home remedies for preventing itches are: 1. Soak the affected area in hot water for sometime (at least 5 minutes), till the itching stops. Salt may also be added to the hot water. Some people directly rub the salt on the itching skin. 2. Aloe vera gel or juice applied on the itching skin, stops the itch and reduces swelling. It also cools the skin.
3.Apply apple cider vinegar to
the itching skin with a dry cloth. After some time, the itching will stop.
Alternately apple cider vinegar can be added to the bath water.
6. Witch hazel applied with a cotton bud to the skin reduces the itch. The affected area should be dusted with an oatmeal bath or corn starch after the witch hazel has dried.
7. Ice applied on the affected area reduces the swelling and inflammation. Cold compresses also help.
8. Ammonia, clear nail polish, benadryl cream, calamine, melaleuca oil, tea tree oil are other home remedies used for relieving itches.
